Agnes Marie Jacobson

March 6, 1923 ~ May 22, 2015 (age 92) 92 Years Old

Agnes Marie Hynek Jacobson passed away peacefully on the evening of May 22, 2015 at the Kindred Nampa Care Center.  She was 92 years old.

Aggie was born in Nampa, Idaho on Mar. 6, 1923 to Simon and Mary Hynek.  She was the last of four children, joining her three brothers to complete the family.

The family lived in various areas around Nampa and for a brief time in Emmet, Idaho.  She attended schools in Nampa and Emmet and graduated from Nampa High School in the class of 1942.

She met her future husband, Helmer Jacobson, at a dance in Nampa.  They were married in Toma, Wisconsin on Jan. 16, 1943.   They continued to dance together for over seventy one years until Helmer passed away on June 7, 2014.  To this union was born two children, Richard Lee in 1944 and Deanna Louise in 1948.

After being married in Wisconsin, Aggie and Helmer lived on various army bases around the U. S. until Helmer was shipped to Europe in WW II and Aggie moved back to Nampa to live with her parents.  Upon Helmer’s return they built a home on a piece of her parent’s property in the Midway area on Nampa-Caldwell Boulevard.  They lived there until building a new home in Nampa in 1992.

Aggie worked for Simplot Potato and Armour Meat packing while raising her family.

Aggie was a very caring person.  Her mother moved in with the family in 1952 when her father died.  She took care of “Grandma” until 1983 when she passed away.  She also cared for Helmer in his later years, enabling him to live at home until his death. She spent many years as a Pink Lady volunteer at Mercy Medical Center in Nampa. When you came to visit, if she didn’t feed you something she felt that she had failed as a hostess.

Aggie is survived by her two children, Richard (Ellen) Jacobson of Rigby, Idaho and Deanna (Larry) Turpen of Nampa; six grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren and her oldest Brother, Frank Hynek, age 101, of Idaho Falls, Idaho.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers, Louie and Charley.

Funeral services will be held Sat. May 30, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yragaen Chapel.  Burial will follow at Kolherlawn Cemetery in Nampa. An online guest book is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com
