Welcome to the memorial page for

Alice D. Weller

July 28, 1954 ~ May 28, 2015 (age 60) 60 Years Old

Alice Weller peacefully passed away on the 28th of May 2015.  Alice Ann Wiegert was born to William and Catherine Wiegert on July 28th, 1929 in Grand Island, Nebraska.  She had an amazing time growing up with her sister and two brothers on the family farm.  After graduating from high school Alice met Marvin Dickman and they were married in 1950.  In 1954, Alice gave birth to her son John W. Dickman and the family loved spending time at the cabin on Johnson Lake.  Marvin was killed in a tragic automobile accident in 1965.  In 1967 she met Heyward Weller on a blind date.  While on a business trip to Idaho he called her collect (asking her to pay the charges) so he could propose to her and try to sell her on the opportunities that existed for them out west.  He was a real salesman, because not only did she take the call, he convinced her to say yes.  After they were married, he moved her and John to Nampa Idaho where they purchased the Flamingo Trailer Court.  In 1969 Alice gave birth to her daughter, Lisa (Weller) Hamilton.  The trailer court became the family business which Alice and Heyward ran with amazing efficiency until 1988 when they sold it.

In 1973 they started attending Nampa First Church of the Nazarene and became an integral part of the church community serving as greeters and helping with many other aspects of the church.  Alice was an amazingly selfless woman who always gave everything to anyone who needed it.  Later in life Alice attended the Nampa Senior Citizen Center daily and naturally, she volunteered her time helping in the kitchen.

Alice would move mountains to ensure that she had time every Friday to get her hair done, and she always had fantastic looking hair.  The last two years of her life she looked forward to Fridays not only for her hair appointment, but also for the religious trek to Dairy Queen for her beloved Heath Blizzards.  She also had a lifelong love of dancing (Polka, because it’s the only real music anyways), barns and hummingbirds.  Alice was a professional yardsaler who was known for her uncanny ability to find the good ones and who could dicker with the best of them.  She was a vibrant jokester who was constantly sharing a good joke to put a smile on everyone’s face.  She lived for her grandchildren and great grandchild and one of her favorite activities during the last few years of her life was spending time with them.

Alice is survived by her sister Geraldine (Dale) Hoagland, brothers Larry (Judy) Wiegert, and Jim (Linda) Wiegert, sister-in-law Pat (Gary) Swartz, son John W. Dickman, daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Phillip Hamilton, grandchildren J. Colt (Chelsi) Dickman, Ashley Anne-Marie and Lilyanna Grace Hamilton, and her great-grandchild Camden Dickman

Thank you Heart’n Home Hospice for all of the dedicated care that you provided for Alice and her family. A special thanks goes out to Billie and Gary Hammond with Hammond Adult Care In-Home Care who welcomed Alice into their home and went out of her way to make the last six weeks of Alice’s life as happy as possible.  Our family is forever grateful for all that you have done.

She will be missed.  We love you Alice.
