Betty Lou (Francis) White

Betty Lou White, 83, of Nampa, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at her home. Betty was born Feb 18, 1933 to Richard and Mildred Francis in Broken Bow, Nebraska and was the oldest of 3 girls.  The family moved to Nampa, Idaho in 1946 where she met her husband, John S. White, and was married on Oct 22, 1951.  The couple continued to live in the Nampa area for the nearly 65 years of their marriage.  They had 5 children, 25 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.   She retired from Western Idaho Potato in 1995.  Along with her husband they also owned and operated White’s Hobby Palace where they met many wonderful people through craft fairs and other events.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Janet S. Rush (Michael), Barbara L. Wade (Timothy), Elaine M. Foster (Tom) and son Elmer E. White (Amy) and two sisters Louise Cummings and Lois Francis.  She is preceded in death by her eldest son Richard J. White, her mother Mildred Lee Francis and father Richard Francis.

Betty was always kind to everyone she met.  She was well loved and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Betty’s wish was that people not mourn her death but celebrate her time we had together.  Friends are invited to share their memories at the “Celebration” of her life on Saturday, Oct 1 from 1-6pm at the home she shared with her family, 6301 Paintbrush Lane, Nampa, ID.  There will be a blessing at 2pm by Bishop Millward, followed by a meal provided by the family.
