Welcome to the memorial page for

Clare June Lockton

June 27, 1927 ~ August 4, 2017 (age 90) 90 Years Old

Clare June Lockton, 90, passed away Friday, August 4th, peacefully in her Nampa home. Born in Nottingham England she had quite an interesting life; she was a beautiful pianist and would have gone to the Royal music academy if not for the war, they had to resort to hiding in sandstone caves for the remainder of her education due to the bombing in London. She helped out in the infirmary, was a short-hand typist for the government, and a music teacher among other things. She was fruitful with stories from England and from her travels to and from the United States till she finally came to Idaho permanently with her husband, Peter whom she met around the age of 24.

She is survived by her two sons, Richard and John Lockton and her close friends. Mostly known as "June", she was a wonderful, compassionate, angel of a woman. She had a 'permanent' smile on her face and absolutely loved the company of others as it was a great comfort for her. There was never anyone who entered that house that did not leave wanting to return again because she was such a joy to be around. She was incapable of harsh words towards anyone, even when they upset her, because that's just who she was. She had a great sense of humor and was incredibly good natured. You could talk to her about anything and know that she would never pass judgement. But always offering her wisdom filled advice that would help you get through the next obstacle. She was always making sure that her friends kept themselves in good shape despite the shape she found herself in.

She was greatly involved with Knitting, crocheting-making sheep themed clothes for her friend who owns a sheep farm. She was a wonderful hospitable hostess and a true 'Brit', teaching all around her the proper English ways. From having tea time around 4, to the etiquette that went with tea time and table manners which many of her 'American' friends did not possess. She was a great grandmother, surrogate grandma, beloved mother, and a true and honest friend. She had a truly beautiful inside-and-out soul. She has finally gone to be with her husband Peter who passed away in 2009. She will be sorely missed.
