David Franklin Lees, 84, passed away at his home on April 20, 2016 after a long battle with prostate cancer.

David was born on May 19, 1931 at Danner, Oregon (near Jordan Valley), the third of five children born to Eugene Lees and Mary Helm.  The family lived in Danner area until 1943 when they moved to New Meadows and then to Caldwell, where he graduated from Caldwell High School in the Class of '50.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1951, serving most of his time in Germany, and was honorably discharged in 1954.

After attending Nampa Business School in 1957 David went to work for the newly organized Producers Supply Co-op, as the bookkeeper later becoming a fuel truck driver, fieldman and retiring in 1994 as the fertilizer manager.  He also farmed part-time for many years.

David married Marilyn K. Rundell in 1960, and they celebrated their 56th year anniversary on April 3, 2016.  They had two children, Mike and Marla.

David's greatest joy was his family and farming.  He spent many hours working with the kids as a Scout Cubmaster and 4-H leader helping with their projects.

There were many fun times with family and friends motorcycling, snowmobiling, camping and the cabin at Round Valley.  In later years a lot of time was spent on the golf course, especially River Bend, and yearly jaunts to Death Valley to play golf at Furnace Creek.

David attended Deer Flat Church and was a member of a Life Group there.

David is survived by his wife, Marilyn, his son Mike (Penny) Lees of Seattle, WA, daughter Marla Donnelly of Boise, ID, two grandchildren, Marcus (Rachel) Lees of Liberty Lake, WA, and Mariel Lees of Seattle, WA, two great grandsons, Connor and Rory Lees, two brothers, Allen Lees of Mt. Home, and Jack Lees of Whitebird, one sister, Edith Ward of Wendell , a sister-in-law, Diana Lees of Boise, and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.  David was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Douglas.
