Dorothy (Goodman) Fillmore

Dorothy Fillmore, 97, of Nampa, passed into the arms of Jesus on November 20, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born on July 24, 1920 in Avant, Oklahoma to Charles and Anna Goodman.  She was their third daughter, of five children.  Her father worked as an oilfield roustabout during her childhood and she spent time living in the oil lease housing until they moved into a regular house near Cushing, Oklahoma.  She graduated from  Shamrock High School in 1938. During that year she met Clyde Fillmore and they were married the following year.  They farmed in the Drumright area for a little over 3 years during which time 2 children were born.  In 1942 they moved to Nampa, ID.  After brief moves to Caldwell and Middleton they settled into the Franklin Community for the rest of their lives.  Three more children were added to the family as well. Dorothy was a hardworking housewife, farmer, mother and friend.  She loved gardening, fishing, quilting and caring for others.  She dearly loved her Lord and family.

Dorothy is survived by  3 daughters; Gail (Howard) Garwick, Nampa, ID; Charlotte (Dallas) Wine, Imperial, NE and Melanie (Rob) White, Meridian, ID; 2 sons; Clyde (Dee) Fillmore, Jr, Homedale, ID and Steve (Cindy) Fillmore, Caldwell, ID; 1 brother, George Goodman, Alvarado, TX; 17 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde, in 1984, a daughter-in-law, Tillie, and granddaughter, Janet, in 1985, 2 sisters and 1 brother.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate her life will be held on Fri. Dec. 1 at 2:00 PM at the Church of the Brethren, 11030 Orchard Ave., Nampa.  A private burial will precede the memorial service at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell.
