Earl Jensen

Earth lost its most gentle, patient man on November 19, 2016, having passed away at a local care center in Nampa. He was born January 25, 1927 in Flagler, CO, the son of Leslie F. and Viola G. (Johnson) Jensen.

The family moved to Caldwell when Earl was a young boy. He left Caldwell High School to join the Army in 1945. He served his country in the Philippines and in Japan. He was honorably discharged as a sergeant and returned to graduate from Caldwell High in 1947.

He met his wife, Helen Bridge while they were both working for Dobbs Motor Co. in Nampa. Earl went on to work for several auto dealerships as a parts department manager. He also enjoyed running the after hours wrecker service for Edmark Chevrolet. For years after his retirement, valley residents told him they missed dealing with him because he never wasted their time by selling them an incorrect part. He knew parts numbers by memory.

He served the city of Nampa as an auxiliary policeman. He also served in several capacities at Lakeview Church of the Nazarene as well, including church board member, usher and church treasurer. He was our dad, and we loved him.

Earl was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Helen; his parents, two sisters, Dorothy and Barbara and two brothers, Stanley and Delmar. He is survived by his daughter, Linda (Rob) Jamison of Nampa, son, David (Cheryl) of Boise; 3 grandchildren, Lindsay (Josh) Pepperd of Anchorage; Chris Jamison of Chicago; Brittany (Daniel) Jamison-Lackey of Brighton, England and 6 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers Everett (Betty) Jensen of Caldwell and Robert (Evelyn) Jensen of Camas, Washington and a sister, Patricia (Jim) Sturgis of Meridian and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank caregivers Stephanie Staats, Billie Hammond and Monique Allen.

A Funeral Service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at 2 PM on Monday, December 5, 2016 at the Lakeview Church of the Nazarene, 608 14th Ave. No in Nampa with military honors by personnel from the Idaho Army National Guard. Services are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Chapel, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Ave. So. – 442-8171.
