Herbert K Arellano was born March 28, 1950, in Caldwell, Idaho, to parents Joe Arellano and Aurora (Nora) Trujillo Arellano. He passed peacefully at home November 7, 2016. Herb lived his entire life in Caldwell, attending schools there and raising his family there. He married Senna Hansen in 1969 and they had two children, Gina and Robert. He and Senna were later divorced but remained life-long friends. He married Kimberly Paris in 1982 and was blessed with another son, Gabriel.

Herb worked for Boise Cascade Container from 1970 until his retirement. He was very active in his union shop there, starting as a shop steward, and eventually worked his way up to President of the Western Idaho Labor Council AFL-CIO. He was active in politics, often campaigning door- to-door for issues he believed in.

He was an avid sports fan, the Chicago Bears being his favorite team of all time. He was an extremely devoted father, raising Gabriel for many years by himself after Kim's untimely death in 1996, and helped with his grandchildren as well.

Herb was preceded in death by his wife Kim, son Robert, grandson Zach, brother Donald, both of his parents, nephew Anthony Wight, niece Tammy Stevens, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his son Gabriel Arellano, daughter Gina and her husband Jose Ramos, grandsons Sgt. Thomas Gonzales USMC and Damon Arellano, grandaughter Miranda Arellano and her sons Zach and Zayn, sisters Paulette Wight and Debbie Longoria, brothers Ted Arellano and Desi Garcia, and many in-laws.

He was extremely proud of his children, his grandchildren and his two great-grandsons. He will be tremendously missed by his family, friends, and all of those who knew and loved him.

Services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel where an online guest book is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com
