Janice Kay Bopp, born and raised in Nampa, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at a Nampa hospital. She was born on July 22, 1942 in Nampa to parents Kenneth P. and Marie Lantz. She attended Nampa schools until marrying and moving her family to Fresno, California. In August 1972 she brought her family back to Nampa. She raised two children, Christine and Kenneth. She devoted her life to taking care of her parents and her children.
She was raised in the Church of the Open Door and was always close to her Lord. As she was dying, she kept repeating “I’m going to my Lord and seeing my Mama.” She left us at 11:08 P.M. on the 5th of December 2017 surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her siblings, younger brother Darris Lantz and sister in law, Ginger of Nampa; brother Larry Lantz and Pam of Kuna; her children, daughter Christine Bopp-Gomez of Meridian and son Kenneth Bopp and daughter in law Cathy of Nampa; eight grandchildren, Shawn Norris, Maria Arias, Edi Arias, Maurina Releford, Justin Stelling, Zachery Berley, Darris Bopp; nine great grandchildren; and four nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by Chelsie Berley Bopp, Joshua Bopp; her parents Kenneth and Marie; her brother Donaven Lantz and many others.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. A private burial will follow in the Kohlerlawn Cemetery, Nampa. All family and friends are invited to a pot luck at her grandsons. A food dish is asked for.
