Juanita was born in Weiser, Idaho on December 8, 1930 to Rev. Glenn and Edna Webb. Nita attended Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa, Idaho, where she met her husband Lloyd. Over the next twenty-five years they pastored five Nazarene Churches throughout Oregon and California where she was particularly active in world missions and in music as a church pianist and organist. Nita later studied geology at Ventura College and graduated from Chico State with a degree in art in 1972. She proceeded to work in elementary education in many capacities over the next 20 years. Among her many talents, Nita was an extraordinary hostess – making delicious food and a creating a lovely home where everyone was welcome. Her annual Christmas parties while Lloyd was Glenn County Superintendent of Schools were legendary. Nita was an explorer at her core—traveling, self-studying and reading to learn and understand. Throughout her life she loved to camp—at the ocean, in the desert and the mountains—always exploring, enjoying and appreciating God’s creation. Nita was a deep, intelligent, complex and private person—authentic and a seeker of truth. Her two great loves were Jesus and her family. She had a quiet but strong, unmovable faith, often reaching out to people many would consider unlovable, and was loyally loving to her family above all but Jesus. After Lloyd’s death, she lived in Chico with her daughter and son-in-law, Mac and Marna Whitley, until moving to full-time care where she was lovingly attended to until her death.

She is survived by children: Marna Whitley (Mac), Paula Black (Dale), Reynold Hubbard, Timothy Hubbard (Cheri); sister Verna Wood; grandchildren Greg (Rachel), Luke (Beth), and Jeff Reid (Dawn); Eric (Deborah), and Kara Black; Melissa Johnson (Brad), Sam Hubbard; Laura Cimbalik (Rob), Paul, Julia, Stephen, David and John Hubbard; eleven great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Hubbard; her parents, Glenn and Edna Webb; her siblings – Kenneth Webb, Geraldine Mangum, Eve Herron and her grandson, Bret Whitley.

In lieu of flowers – please make donation toward Bibles at Voice of the Martyrs, a ministry dear to Nita’s heart.   https://secure.persecution.com/p-418-covert-operations-6-per-bible.aspx
