Lilace Nadine Keech

Oct. 20, 1939 to Sept. 15, 2015

Lilace was ushered into the arms of Jesus on Sept. 15, 2015.  Her husband and a daughter were present to observe her peaceful passing.   She had fought cancer for a year and one half.

Lilace was born to Lloyd Agren and Joy (Gaffin) Agren at their home in Litchfield, MInn. She had an older sister, Joan.  She grew up in Litchfield, attending local schools until graduation from Litchfield High School in 1957.  She learned to play violin from her mother, who was a violin, voice, and piano teacher. Lilace served as Concert-Mistress in her high school orchestra.

In the fall of 1957 she enrolled at Olivet Nazarene University .  It was there she met Harold Keech, to whom she was married Nov. 1, 1958.  They were blessed with three beautiful daughters, Jodine Renee,  Lori Ann, and Jerilyn Joy.

In June of 1969 the family moved to Brookings, Or.  The girls were educated in the Brookings public schools and Lilace worked as a secretary for South Coast Lumber Company for thirty five years until her retirement in 2004.  During many of those years she also worked in the Circulation Department for the Curry Coastal Pilot.

In 2004 Lilace and Harold moved to Nampa, ID. to be centrally located among their three daughters who were now married with families of their own.

Lilace enjoyed music throughout her life.  She was a part of GRACE NOTES, a senior adult choir, with whom she played violin.  She loved the choir members and the music and made many friends.  The Evangel class at First Nazarene Church was always a joy to her.   She enjoyed the "old" people with whom she came to have much in common. She tried to anticipate and meet their needs while they attended class.

Lilace was always faithful and dependable to any commitment she made.  This made her what she was to family, friends, employers, and at church.  Her generous heart was revealed many times with positive results.  She would begin the day after Christmas planning for the next Christmas and birthdays for the family with an eye toward getting the most appropriate gift she could afford for each individual.  She would save quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies, to help with this endeavor, always planning ahead. When she saw someone’s need she tried to meet it in some way.

Lilace was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Joan. She leaves behind her husband of 57 years, daughters, Jodine (Rick) Lowell, Lori (Bob) Rose, Jerilyn (Doug) Edwards.  Grandchildren, Lindsey Lowell, Kristy Lowell, Merry Lowell, Wendy Lowell, Sharalyn Rose, Megan (Nate) Cobb, Josh (Bekah) Rose, Taylor Edwards, and Alison Edwards.  Great grandchildren, Ryan Cobb, Hailee Cobb, Haiden Cobb,  Lily Cobb, and Alexis Rose.

The family extends a special "Thank You," to the staff at Nampa Cancer Care Center, Treasure Valley Hospice and Canyon County Community Clinic for their compassionate, loving care. The people of   First Church of the Nazarene were a special blessing throughout the past nineteen months.  Memorial contributions to any of the above would be greatly appreciated.

A Celebration of Her Life will be held at First Church of The Nazarene, 601 16th Ave. South, Nampa, Id. at 1:00 pm on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015 .
