Mamie Anna Sedlacek, 101 of Nampa, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at a Nampa hospital. She was born on October 21, 1916 in La Crosse, Wisconsin to Vaclav and Anna Florian. The family moved to Nampa to find a nice Czech community when she was just a year old and stayed in the old Dewey Palace for a month until they settled.

She attended St. Paul’s Catholic School and graduated from Nampa High School in 1935. She married the love of her life, Alfred Sedlacek on October 10, 1935. She enjoyed her yard work in her flower garden and enjoyed square and round dancing under the guidance of Ross and Penny Crespino. They went on many trips to the Owyhees collecting rocks and mining and Round Valley. So many enjoyable times were spent together. Al passed away on February 16, 1981 after 46 years of marriage.

Mamie was a 100 year member of the St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Nampa. She was also a member of the Eagles Lodge and Mercy Hospital Auxiliary where she volunteered for 30 plus years and retired in her early 90’s.

She is survived by her children, Dick (Lori) Sedlacek of Meridian and Diane (LeRoy) Johnson of Sacramento, CA; 4 grandchildren, Scott Sedlacek, Wendy Sedlacek, Kimberly Sowinski and Mark Johnson; 5 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 20, 2017 at the St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Nampa. Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Nampa. Services are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel where an online guest book is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com
