Patsy Toney Obituary

Patsy Sue Toney went home to Jesus on February 24, 2018 in Nampa, ID. She was at home under hospice care with her family.

Pat was born on May 27, 1942 in Shenandoah, Iowa. Her family moved to California where she completed her schooling in the San Francisco bay area. She graduated from Diablo Valley College and received certification as a dental hygienist, a profession in which she served for nearly 30 years. She met her husband Jim at church in Richmond, CA when she was in high school. They were married for 58 years and raised their family in the communities of Richmond, Concord, and Pleasant Hill, CA.

Pat experienced great joy through: creating gift baskets, traveling, cruise ship vacations, spoiling her grandchildren, thrift store shopping, volunteering at Northwest Nazarene University, and being an active member of the Church of the Nazarene in Richmond & Concord, CA, and Nampa, ID.

Pat is survived by her husband, Jim of Nampa, ID; her daughter Debbie (Steve) Scott of Stockton, CA; her son Steve Toney of Nampa, ID; her son Dan Toney of Ft. Collins, CO; her mother Marjorie Gardner of Vallejo, CA; her sister Kathy Brooks of Corning, CA; her grandsons Robert & David Scott of Stockton, CA; her grandsons Sajen & Camden Toney of Nampa, ID. She was preceded in death by her brother Warren Gardner.

Pat lived each day with great enthusiasm, and was an amazing witness to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. She was the one who created a family tradition of the Toney & Scott men’s annual Christmas indoor go kart racing competition. She was also the one who always made sure that every family gathering included lots of family photos.
