Pauline (Rau) Miller passed away on March 12, 2017 after a brave and graceful struggle with colon cancer.  She was born in American Falls, Idaho on May 10, 1920 to German Immigrants, Fredrick and Maria Rau.  When she was five years old the family moved to Nampa, where she has since resided.

She graduated from Nampa High School in 1938.  She married Guy Leroy Miller on April 16, 1941 and they shared love and family until his death in 1991.  They lived on a military base on the East Coast for three years during World War II where her husband was serving.  During this time their daughter was born.  After the war, they returned to Nampa, resumed their lives, and added two sons to the family.

After raising her children, she worked for the Nampa School District until her retirement.  She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and was proud of 92 years of membership.

She was preceded in death by her husband Guy Leroy Miller, her two sons, Donald L. and Wesley J. Miller, her parents, brothers Fred, Jacob, and Dave Rau, and sisters, Amelia Brockus and Anna Lewis.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lee Timm and Dan Kaufold, daughter-in-law’s, Klynn Miller and Diana Miller Walker.  Ten grandchildren, Bryan(Kathryn)Timm, Michelle(Todd) Weber, James(Roni) Miller, Stacy(Marc) DiPaola, Jeffrey Miller, Bret(Monica) Miller, Angie(Mark) Walthlus, Kevin(Casey) Miller, Eric(Jenny) Miller, and Katie(Lyle) Garner and 20 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister, Martha Weymouth, sister-in-law, Geraldine Rau and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and dedicated her life to loving her family.  She led by example, and instilled the virtues of faith, hard work, loyalty, perseverance and unconditional love, her quick wit and sense of humor provided strength to us all.

Special thanks to her physician, Dr. Michael Dee, Compassus Hospice, and Grace Assisted Living for their care and compassion during this difficult time.

Services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Nampa on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. A private burial will be held at Terrace Lawn Cemetery in Boise.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel where an online guest book is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com
