Philip Gene Adamson

January 30, 1954 ~ March 1, 2017 (age 63) 63 Years Old


Philip Gene Adamson, Jr. passed away Wednesday, March 1st at his home in Nampa, Idaho.  Philip was born on January 30, 1954 to Philip G. Adamson Sr. and Leona (Kelly) Adamson in Culver City, California.  He grew up in Twin Falls, Idaho, graduating in 1972 from Twin Falls High School where he was the starting defensive tackle for the TFHS football team.  His family was very proud of his athletic abilities and enjoyed watching him play football, rain, snow or shine.  After graduation Philip joined the United States Airforce as a member of the security police force.  At the completion of his tour of duty he worked for K&T Steel in conjunction with Idaho Power in Twin Falls as a journeyman welder for twenty years.  He then moved to Sumiton, Alabama continuing his career in steel fabrication and welding.  At that time, he also attended Bevill State Community College and graduated with a degree in Drafting.  In 2013 he moved back to Idaho to be closer to his Sister Janice and Daughter Kelly.   

In 2014 Philip met and fell in love with his best friend Joan Reynolds-Adamson, and they were united in marriage at Zion Lutheran Church in Nampa, on March 9, 2016.   

Philip enjoyed golfing, traveling, cooking and going for walks.  He loved listening to music and watching classic movies.  He was also an animal lover and he was especially fond of dogs.  He will be missed by his dog Lancelot. 

He is survived by his wife Joan Reynolds-Adamson of Nampa, ID; daughter Kelly Adamson (Sean) of Boise, ID; son Joseph Adamson, Orlando, FL; sisters and brothers-in-law Carol Adamson Wimer (George) of La Grande, OR; and Janice Adamson Techick (Terrell) of Idaho Falls, ID; his aunt Mary Cole, nieces Jennifer Brannon and Autumn Jones and nephew Cole Ulrich along with many cousins and friends. 

Philip is proceeded in death by his sister Marie Adamson, his mother Leona (Kelly) Adamson and father Philip G. Adamson Sr.
