Raymond Reding, 89 of Nampa, died January 21, 2016, at his home.
A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:45 am on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Ave So. Nampa, ID. Raymond was born May 5, 1926 in Elm Creek, Nebraska to John and Anna (Thinnes) Reding. His family moved to Nampa in 1941 and Raymond graduated from Nampa High School in 1943. He then joined the Navy and spent two years in Guam. After returning to the States he met and married his bride, Arlene Flowers. He joined his father in farming in the Lone Star/Lake Lowell Community where he has resided for all these years. He and Arlene have eight children together, Darlene, Lynn, Mary, Jerry, John, Susan, Angela, and Jeff. He was a farmer all his years, trained his sons to farm right alongside him. He also enjoyed hunting and salmon fishing in the summer at Dagger Falls with his family. His earlier years were spent at the bowling alley and in later years he enjoyed supporting his son Jeff, in wrestling and then you could always see him in the stands cheering his grandchildren on in wrestling and baseball.
He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church where he also was married 67 years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene, of Nampa and his children, Darlene (Leonard) Cross of Middleton, Mary Caywood, Jane Reding (daughter-in-law), John (Brenda) Reding, Sue Reding of Middleton, Angela (Lamond) Thueson, and Jeff Reding all of Nampa, 26 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and soon to be a great-great grandchild.
Two sons, Lynn and Jerry, two sons-in-law Bruce and Jamie and his parents have preceded him in death.
The family would like to thank Horizon Home and Hospice, especially Rebecca and Kim for their dedicated care to us, the family, and to our father.
