Richard "Dick" Delbert Claiborne

Richard “Dick” Delbert Claiborne was born on October 16, 1931 in Jerome, Idaho.  He attended several grade schools until his family moved to Boise when he was 13yo.  He attended Franklin School (an all grade school) and graduated from Boise High in 1949.  He attended BJC and then joined the Air Force where he served three years as a Postal worker.  He met and married Janice Wallace in 1955.  He graduated college at ISU in 1957 in Business Education.  He worked as an Insurance adjuster for 10 years and then purchased his own Insurance agency in Nampa, Idaho where he retired from in 1997.  He was very involved in politics and served 16 years for city council, was president of the Lions Club, Eagles, American Legion, and Chamber of Commerce.  He was also the liaison for the Nampa Library, volunteered at the Nampa Police Department and many others.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing, playing cards with friends and spending time with family.

Dick is survived by his wife Janice; 3 daughters; Linda, Julie and Diana, one son; Wayne, and six grandchildren.  He will be missed dearly and thought of daily.

Dick passed away at his home on Monday, October 9, 2017. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Ave. So. – 208-442-8171 with military honors by personnel from the Mt.
