Velma Lola (Cupp) Tipton

Velma Lola (Cupp) Tipton, Nampa, left her earthly home to join her Heavenly Father Wednesday, September 13, 2017at Meridian, ID. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 P. M. at Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell, ID. Monday, September 18, 2017.

Velma was born November 12, 1917 to William M. and Lola L. (Morgan) Cupp at Caldwell, ID. She grew up in the Caldwell/Nampa area. She attended Pleasant Ridge and Scism schools, and graduated from Nampa High School in 1936. She married John "Bert" Tipton on her 19th birthday on Nov 12, 1936 at Nampa. They loved dancing, traveling, camping and playing pinochle with friends and family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She enjoyed wearing hats in her later years and always looked as pretty as a picture everywhere she went. Her license plate was Hatlady and her E-mail address was "HatIady82". She was a member of the Nampa Civic Center Auxiliary, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, the Senior Choir, Day By Day group, and her church choir. For many years she served on her church's memorial board, and volunteered at the Nampa Senior Center Gift Shop for more than 25 years. She assisted with organizing her class reunions and kept in contact with many friends and family via E-mail.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law: Donna (Grant) Eason, Nampa; Sharon Conlin, Idaho Falls; sons Gene (Renee) Tipton, Old Town, ID; Terry (Jana) Tipton, Cascade, ID., and Daughter-in-law Fran Wilson Tipton, Middleton, ID. Preceding her in death were her husband, son Johnny, son-in-law Vern Conlin; her parents, sister and brother-in-law Alma and Charles Baty, brother and sister-in-law Bill and Eulah Cupp.

Grandchildren: Merilie (Doug) Blickenstaff; Valerie Tiegs; Darin (Debbie) Eason, Nampa; Deborah (Dave) Coffey, Aurora, CO; Tamara (Rick) Scheer, Twin Falls; Natalie (Randy) Miller, Winlock, W A; Brian (Catrina) Burge, Wilder; Sissie (Kevin) Hall, Boise; Brad (Crystal) Burge, Reno, NV.; Chad Tipton, Jennifer (Adam) Kennedy, Mountain Home; Amanda Sonner, Wendall; Cassie Tipton, Nampa; 31 great grandkids and 14 great great grandchildren.
