Mary Shawhan Kneidl, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was called home on Saturday, April 28, 2012. Mary was born in Nampa, Idaho in 1920 to Dr. Glenn Shawhan and Margaret Shawhan. She was the youngest in the family with five older brothers. Mary graduated from Nampa High School in 1938 and went on to Sterling College in Kansas. There she met Richard Kneidl, and they were married in 1943. Their union produced four children: Margaret, Laura, Richard, and Willard. In addition to four children she had six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
A homemaker most of her life, Mary was a member of the Nampa First United Presbyterian Church, DAR, PEO, RSVP, and the Nampa Senior Center Choir.
Private interment services will be held at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise. A public Memorial Service will be held at the Nampa First United Presbyterian Church, 400 Lake Lowell Ave., Nampa on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 7:00 PM. The family suggests that anyone wishing to make a memorial gift consider the Presbyterian Church. Services are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. |
