Glenn Larsen Obituary

Glenn S. Larsen, 82, of Nampa, Idaho, passed away on April 4, 2024, at Touchmark Memory Care in Meridian, Idaho. He was born on September 23, 1941, in Seattle, Washington, to Stanley and Elaine Larsen. Glenn was the beloved husband of Judi Secord-Larsen. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jane W. Larsen.

Growing up with his sisters Adele and Lavone, he embraced the values of family, hard work, and compassion. His lifelong love of golf may have started when as a young teen he would scour the perimeter of the Everett golf club for stray balls. Playing the game became one of his favorite pastimes. He graduated from Everett High School in 1959.

Following High School Glenn attended Northwest Nazarene College. On December 28, 1962, Glenn married his college sweetheart, Jane W. Witte, in Vancouver, B.C. After the wedding, they returned to finish their senior year at NNC. He graduated in 1963 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and embarked on a fulfilling career with State Farm Insurance. Glenn retired from State Farm, as a commercial underwriter, after over 35 years of service.

Throughout his life, Glenn and his family lived in various cities, with the longest being Anchorage, Alaska where they resided for 22 years. Glenn loved Alaska; the mountains, fishing for salmon, and wildlife. He also loved to travel, especially camping and cruising. Their trips took them to Europe, the Holy Land, the Caribbean, and more. Wherever they traveled he enjoyed a game of golf, seeing the sights, and learning about different cultures.

Glenn was an active member of the Church of the Nazarene. Activities include board member, Sunday school teacher, usher, and running the sound system. He believed deeply in the power of education to transform lives and communities. Glenn felt privileged to serve on the Alumni Board and the Board of Regents at Northwest Nazarene University. His involvement in church reflected his commitment to his faith and values.

After Jane died in 2011, Glenn fell in love with Judi Secord a wonderful woman he met at church; she too had lost her spouse to cancer. Glenn and Judi were married on June 8, 2013, in Nampa, Idaho. Judi and Glenn enjoyed times with both families, continued their ministries in church and NNU, and visited many places together, including trips to Cuba, Australia, Mexico, Alaska, and more.

Glenn will be dearly missed by his wife Judi; sisters Lavone (Dan) Edgar and Adele Larsen; daughter Lynnette (Michael) Carston of Pittsburgh, PA; son Bruce (Corinne) Larsen of Nampa, ID; grandchildren Parker Larsen, Svetlana Carston, Aaron Carston, Michelle (Andrew) Lueck, Michael Field, Natalija Larsen, Arjane (Kelby) Kinney, and Elvira Stale; and one great-grandson Shemaiah Nate Lantafe. He will be missed by Judi’s Children and Grandchildren, especially Benjamin Stillman who was born during their marriage.

Glenn leaves behind a legacy of love, integrity, and service that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
