Marilyn Anita Rosar was born November 4th, 1961, to Frank and Margie Burtlow in Caldwell, Idaho. Marilyn was the youngest of 10 kids, being brought up around her older sister and rowdy older brothers made her the spitfire everyone knew and loved. As a child Marilyn spent much of her time playing with her siblings in her early ages, she often talked about how when they played catch, she would get the honor of being the ball. Her father became ill while she was young so she became the little assistant to her mother, helping wherever and whenever she could. As she grew into a young adult she began caring for her nieces and nephews, coining her role as Aunt Marilyn.
Marilyn graduated from Nampa High School in 1980, afterwards attending Links School of Business, completing her courses in less than a year. Soon after graduating college, in 1981 she began working at Mercy Medical Center running the ER counter and checking patients into the hospital. In 1983 she would meet the love of her life Mark, while getting a drink with her sister. While working at the hospital in 1987 Marilyn gave birth to her first child Nicholas. Years later in the winter of 93’ she began working as a Claim Adjudicator for First Health. In 2000 Mark and Marilyn would have their second child Noah, not long after she began working for the Migrant Council of Idaho as an Office Admin. As Marilyns health started to decline she took up the role of housemaker raising her young child and taking care of their home.
Marilyn was a mother figure to nearly every young life who crossed her path, showing love and giving motherly advice to them all. Marilyn loved children and loved caring for others, always checking to see if you were hungry or if you needed anything even if she knew you didn’t. Marilyn is survived by her children Nick and Noah and her brothers Jerry, James, and Roger, as well as the many younger members of the Burtlow family.
