Mary Ann Barton, age 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 31, 2024, in Nampa, ID. Mary Ann was born on November 29, 1935, in Nampa, where she grew up with her brother George. She graduated from Nampa High School in 1954. Upon graduation, she went to work for the telephone company in Boise and it was there that she met Richard Barton, who was stationed at the Mountain Home air force base. After marrying in 1955, they relocated to Southern California and Mary Ann gave birth to their only child, Robert in 1957. The three of them resided in Whittier, CA, where Mary Ann lived until she returned to Idaho in 1996.
Mary Ann was a deeply spiritual woman who shared God’s love with others. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and was loved and admired by many. Her positive outlook on life and her love for family and friends is an impact that will be felt for many years to come. She loved to read, do puzzles, and go out for lunches with her many friends, but most of all, she loved being a grandmother and spending time with her family. She always looked forward to her yearly visits with her granddaughter in Southern California.
Mary Ann is predeceased by her parents, George and Pauline Asselin, her husband, Richard, her son, Robert, and her great nephew Taber Herrera.
Mary Ann is survived by her granddaughter, Stefanie Barton and her husband Odai Altahaineh, her brother George Asselin and his wife, Donna, her nephew Mike Asselin and wife Shannon, great nephews Devin and Bryce Asselin, niece Paula Herrera and her husband Dave Adams, great nephew Trey Herrera and his wife Dalandra, and numerous cousins.
Our family would like to thank our cousin Deanne for all of her help and support. We would also like to thank Mary Ann’s dear friend Bonnie for being her spiritual and physical caregiver.
