Burdette "Pete" Peterson, Jr. died peacefully October 15th in Caldwell, ID at the age of 71.
Pete is survived by his wife, Carolyn, his children Judi, Michael, and Robert, his sister Penny, and his granddaughter Emily. He is preceded in death by his father, Burdette Sr., his mother Sarah, and his sister Pamela.
Pete was born on April 13th, 1947 in Monterey, CA to Burdette and Sarah Peterson. Pete was a 20 year Air Force veteran with tours of duty in Germany, England, Guam and Vietnam, spending the last 10 years of his service at Fairchild Air Force base near Spokane, WA. After moving to that area, Pete began working for Kaiser Aluminum as an aluminum worker. He then spent some years working for the Transportation Security Administration.
Pete loved to work with his hands, and was an accomplished artist, guitarist, craftsman, and inventor. He had a great sense of humor and unique ability to make fast friends wherever he went. He was a generous, funny, and dedicated people-lover who was passionate about his family, his faith in Jesus, and his politics.
A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for 2PM on Saturday, November 3rd, at Fill My Cup Nazarene church, 3 W Concord St, Middleton, ID 83644. Pastor Mark Winkleman will officiate.. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Pete’s life.
Burial with military honors provided by personnel from the Mt. Home Air Force Base will be held at 11 AM on Monday, Nov. 5, 2018 at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 N Horseshoe Bend Rd, Boise, ID 83714. If you plant to attend the service at the cemetery, please be sure to arrive by 10:45 AM.
