Carolyn Kay Coleman, 72, of Nampa, Idaho passed away on December 10, 2017 at Southwest Advanced Care Hospital, Boise, Idaho. Carolyn was being treated there after several surgeries for heart problems. She was a strong lady with a will to live and wanted to come home for Christmas. After all the problems she had with different complications, her heart finally gave up. Carolyn had a strong faith and believed she would get better. Her God and church were very important to her.
She was born on June 1, 1945 in Charleston, S.C. and grew up on North 28th St. Boise, Idaho. She received her education from St. Mary’s school through eighth grade and graduated from Boise High School.
Carolyn worked as a clerk for Daly and Co. until their first child Douglas was born and then she took to babysitting.
Carolyn married Gerald Coleman on September 6, 1966 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Right after that she became a mother to Douglas Michael and Cheryl Ann, and became a homemaker. They later decided to adopt three children, Charles at 6 months, Megan at 3 years and Sarah as an infant. She loved her family more than anything. In their 51 years of marriage they loved to take their children and grandchildren to Disneyland and some of her favorite trips were going to Graceland to see Elvis.
She lived with her husband Gerald in Nampa, Idaho where he drives school bus for Brown Bus Company.
She is survived by her husband Gerald; her children Douglas, Charlie (Dawn), and Megan; grandchildren Sierra, Samantha, Summer, Shilo, Glenn, Bishop, Jack, Destiny, Dylon, Shawn, Shelby, and Charlie Shay; several step grandchildren; and one great granddaughter Lexi. Her sister Mavis White, several brother and sister in laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents A.J. and Myrtle Montagne and Arlo and Nellie Coleman; their daughters Cheryl Ann and Sarah Catherine Coleman; several aunts, uncles and cousin’s, nieces and nephews.
