Darlene Sosa passed away on Wednesday, January 15 of natural causes at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Creighton, Nebraska in 1943 to Edward Tappe and Agnes Hoffman Tappe. When she was three years old, she moved to Emmett, Idaho where she grew up and attended school. In Emmett, Darlene also met her husband of 56 years, Margarito Sosa. Together they raised four children and lived in many parts of the West, but made their home mostly in Caldwell, Idaho.
Darlene is survived by her husband, Margarito Sosa. Her children Robert Sosa (Buhl, ID), Julie Barron (White Lake, WI), Gloria Mondragon (Nampa, ID), and Richard Sosa (New Haven, CT), in addition to 19 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Marcelene Rambo and Norma Arispe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Vincent Tappe and William Tappe, her sister Dolores Griffiths, and her granddaughter, Rachel Sosa.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Nampa Funeral Home Yraguen Chapel followed by a rosary from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Nampa at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2020. Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Nampa.
