Deborah Hughes Obituary

Deborah (Debbye) Lynn Hughes, 45, of Nampa, passed away on November 5, 2019.

Deborah was born to the late Arturo Delgado and Clemencia Pamela Molina, on July 23, 1974, in El Paso, Texas. She graduated from Austin High School in 1992 and married the love of her life of 22 years, Donald Shayne Hughes, on October 17, 1997. Deborah and her family have resided in Nampa, Idaho since 2006.

Deborah was a witty, passionate, and fiercely independent mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Ever since becoming a mother at a young age, her children were her pride and joy. No matter what, she always put their needs above all else. With her special brand of humor, she enjoyed trolling her children on social media and cracking jokes, where her laugh was the most infectious sound in the room. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, where decorating the tree was always an important family tradition.

With her GameBoy never too far away, she recently completed the ultimate challenge of capturing all 807 Pokemon. Nothing brought her greater joy than playing games with her family, whether it be dominating at Scrabble, or getting the most stars in Mario Party. However, everyone knew better than to touch her puzzles.

She was an avid reader and was always first in line at the midnight release of her favorite book series. Orcas and dolphins were her favorite animals and she decorated her home with their likeness. She was passionate about learning and trying new things and loved to collect small souvenirs from her travels around the world.

Throughout her life-long struggle with diabetes, she exemplified strength and never let her condition break her fighting spirit. Her family takes solace in the fact that she is reunited with her parents and beloved family pet of 14 years, Zeus.

Deborah is survived by her husband and five children: Arthur Aguilera, Andrew Aguilera, Tanner L. Hughes, Skylar S. Hughes, and McKynzie L. Hughes. She is also survived by her grandchild, Jayden J. Aguilera, her sister, Linda A. West, and brothers Robert E. and Joseph G. Guzman.

Arrangements are being handled by the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. There will be no service in accordance with the family’s wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Deborah’s name to the American Kidney Fund.
