Donald Robert Clark, 85, beloved husband of the late Phyllis Jean (Perringer), died peacefully on Monday, September 25, 2017, while surrounded by his loving family.
Don was part of our greatest generation; proud of his patriotic duty with service in the Air Force, having served for 22 years. He served in various locations, including Nebraska, California, Mississippi, Hawaii, Thailand, and even Libya, North Africa.
Following his retirement from the Air Force, Don and Phyllis returned to the Treasure Valley as their home base where Don worked for Western Power Sports in Boise for 15 years, and then for the Idaho State Insurance Fund until he retired.
Don was a lifelong member of the Elks Lodge of Nampa, B.P.O.E 1389. He held many roles within the Elks, including serving as the Exalted Ruler twice. He and Phyllis enjoyed numerous caravans and trips with their many friends to state and national Elks functions.
His favorite pastimes included golf, time with family and friends, and travel. He visited many destinations, such as New Zealand, Russia, Germany, China, Alaska and multiple trips to Hawaii.
Don is survived by his 9 children; Mike (Momi), Jonee (Ben), Cindy (Don), Teresa (Kenny), Mary (Joe), Robert (Sherri), Roberta (Brett), Sandy (Mike), Tom (Gayla); 26 grandchildren & their spouses, as well as 17 great-grandchildren, with 2 more on the way.
He was preceded in death by Phyllis, his wife of 54 years, and by his only brother, Gary.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to celebrate Don's amazing life at 2pm on Sunday, October 1st, at the Nampa Elks Lodge. An interment including Military Honors will be held at 11am Monday, October 2nd at the Idaho State Veteran's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Elks Lodge of Nampa, B.P.O.E 1389.
“Bossy Don” was truly a loving and giving soul. He was our dad, uncle, grandpa, friend ... and now our angel.
We would like to express our thanks for the wonderful care and friendship from Treasure Valley Hospice; Craig, Martin, Tiffany and Joann.
