Douglas Madrid Obituary

Douglas Madrid of Payette Idaho, formerly of Nyssa, Oregon, was born in Nyssa February 16, 1964 to Joe and Elvy Madrid, and lived most of his life in Idaho.

Doug worked at various jobs including an Auto Mechanic and Painter, a Logging Truck Driver, an Auto Body Repairman, and a Packing Shed Foreman. Throughout his life Doug found that that nothing was too great of a challenge. He dove into anything and everything with both feet and a zest and thirst for knowledge for the next adventure.

Doug married Tammy Page in 1981, and a son Jeremy and a daughter Erica, were born to them.

He later married Karen Griffin in 1999, and daughter Alexis was born to them.

He was married to Cynde at the time of his death.

Doug love hunting and fishing and being in the great outdoors. He got immense pleasure in teaching other people how to hunt and fish also.

Family was very important to Doug and he took care of his family, they were a priority to him. He was always willing to take someone in who was in need even when he thought he had little to give.

Doug was always busy, rarely sitting down; He loved working with wood and making a variety of things for someone and everyone. He enjoyed rock hunting and collecting driftwood. Doug and Cynde spent many, many hours rebuilding the house after the fire, including custom tile work and hardwood floors. He could make anything out of nothing.

Doug always put others before himself. He would give you the shirt off his back, not because someone asked for it, but because he just thought you needed it.  If you were working with Doug he would give you his new stuff and use the old ratty stuff himself. Doug was a master of all trades. He could fix anything.

In the fall he loved nothing better than hunting with his wife, and in the summer fishing with his wife. He was always trying to get his daughters and grandkids to go hunting and fishing with us.

Doug would want you to spend a day with someone you love, or share a meal or a telephone call with your family or reach out to that friend that you haven’t seen for quite some time.
