Georgia E. Lind 88, of Nampa, Idaho, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019.
Georgia was born June 30, 1931 in Stanfield, Oregon to Dessie and Jesse Snead. She was raised in Umatilla, Oregon where she graduated from high school. Georgia attended college at Eastern Washington College of Education for one year then transferred to Eastern Oregon College where she met her future husband Henry Rollin Lind. They remained married until Hank’s death in 2001. Georgia graduated from Eastern Oregon College with a degree in education and later gained a Master’s degree in library science from Portland State. The majority of her teaching career was spent in David Douglas elementary schools and Beaverton School District where she retired as a librarian.
Georgia was an avid reader, traveler, and photographer. She loved music and instilled that love in her family with gusto. Never a blushing rose, Georgia enjoyed living up to the final few weeks. She was preceded in death by her husband Hank, her longtime sweetheart, Bob Hamilton, and her granddaughter Hayley Reece. She leaves behind her daughters, Janet (Pat) Echanis and Jo (Doyal) Snyder; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Heron Place Assisted Living and Heart and Home Hospice for their outstanding service.
In honor of Georgia, donations to one’s local library are suggested.
An intimate family memorial will be held later in the summer. Arrangements are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel where an online guest book is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com
