Harold F. Latter, Jr., 94 of Nampa, passed away at his home on November 1, 2018. A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Ave. So. – 208-442-8171 with military honors by personnel from the Idaho Army National Guard.
Harold was born on January 11, 1924 to Harold and Margaret Latter in Glendale, California. He grew up in Oakland, California and went to high school at Oakland Technical High School and graduated in ‘42. After high school he joined the Army, trained as a cryptographer and served in that position in Africa. In 1947 he married Joan Sharp in Nampa, Idaho, but lived in several places throughout Northern California. They attended various Nazarene Churches depending on where they lived. Here in Nampa, they worshipped at College Church of the Nazarene.
Together they had two children, H. Frederick and Carol Margaret (Garmire). He worked in the family business, Morehouse Mustard Company, for many years until he left to go to Healds Business College. After graduating from business college he went to work for the state of California for the Department of Transportation.
When his wife retired they decided to move to Nampa to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Here he lived until his death on November 1st, 2018.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents. Harold is survived by his wife Joan, children H. Fred Latter and Carol Garmire; his five grandchildren six great grandchildren; his two brothers Dave Latter and George Latter.
