Hazel J. (Ayers) Hardy

Hazel Josephine (Ayres) Hardy, 95, passed away gently in Nampa, Idaho on October 24, 2019. Services will be Tuesday, October 29th at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
She was born September 18, 1924 to Lonnie and Gladys (Phillips) Ayres at Jump River, Wisconsin. The family later moved to South Dakota near Custer where they had a small farm. She got her education at the Bull Flat school. She had warm memories of this time in her life.
 Life became difficult at this point due to the war and the depression. When Gladys heard about the good life available in Idaho, she moved the whole family here. During time Hazel had the opportunity to travel to Seattle with her aunt Rachael and children. She met and fell in love with her future husband, Stephen Hardy. After he was discharged from the US Navy, he followed Hazel back to Nampa where they were married November 4, 1946. They had 3 children Gilbert, Gloria and Greg. Thirteen years later Stephanie came along and made it 4.
 Hazel was a lifelong homemaker. There was always a meal available for family and friends. She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the age of 60. She taught Primary and was a Compassionate Service leader.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve, her  mother, Gladys, and her brothers Ed and Larry.
 She is survived by her children, 2 brothers, 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces nephews and cousins.
Hazel’s last days were spent at the Family Life Memory Care. We will always be grateful for their tender loving care.
