James Martin "Jamie" Steelsmith

James Martin “Jamie” Steelsmith, 50, of Caldwell, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017 in a Boise hospital from complications from diabetes. He was born on November 22, 1966 in Boise, Idaho to Ernest Martin and Ruth V. Anderson Steelsmith. He attended Nampa High School and received a Bachelors Degree in Accounting at Northwest Nazarene College. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Nampa.

He married Trina Denise Fuller on August 26, 1988 and three children were born to this union. He married Teresa Lynn Gonzalez West on December 1, 2016 and they have resided in Caldwell.

He loved his family and spent many hours rock hunting, fishing, and loved being around them. He was an avid Moto Cross racer where he raced throughout the Northwest including the King Dome in Seattle and won numerous trophies and awards.

Jamie worked as an intern at Simplot in Caldwell while attending NNC. He went on to work for Darigold in Caldwell as a Controller. He worked for Sarento Lactilis in Nampa as a controller until his health did not permit him to work. In the last few years while dealing with complications from his diabetes Jamie managed his Mobile Home park and also his second hand store.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa of Caldwell; his parents, Ernest and Ruth Steelsmith of Nampa; his three children, Dustin (Amanda) Steelsmith of Nampa, Jessica Brown of Nampa and Trevor Steelsmith of Nampa; his step children, Micha Collier of Caldwell, Raven (Tim) Wood of Nampa, Skyler West of Caldwell and Jaden West of Caldwell; two grandchildren, Ryder Kurtis Brown of Nampa and Zachariah Damon Collier of Nampa; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews

A funeral service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at 11:30 A.M. Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell. An online guest book is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com
