Very sad to hear this news. I met Mike on a mission near Seattle when I was 15 - almost 20 years ago. I've had his album "Where your treasure lies" in my music library since. That was a memorable summer for me and left a lasting impression on my own faith and importance to love others more than yourself. Rest in Peace!

Michael was such an inspiration, and I had the pleasure to work along side of him at Christ the King Parish in Milwaukie, OR, when he was Youth Minister and I was secretary of the parish. He always brought joy, fun and laughs along with him into the parish office. He was loved by us all. Blessings to the family. I believe he is now in Heaven entertaining and joking with many Souls!

many years ago in a small community near Portland, Mike started a new adventure in faith, to minister to youth. I'm grateful that he took us all along with him on that journey. We weren't always the easiest group of high schoolers to reach, but he did it, with his humor, his grace, and his faith big enough to move mountains. He brought us together and helped us grow in our journey to adulthood in so many ways, as an example, mentor, and friend. I'm so sad to hear of his passing. He will be remembered, always with love, laughter and smiles.

Mike and his guitar were a beautiful part of our daughter's youth group experience at Our Lady of the Valley. Over the years we appreciated his quiet humor, and his steadfast strength and faith. He will be missed! Our prayers are with his family.

Dear Beth, Mike and You will always have a special place in my heart. I remember Mike's wise counsel where I could see the truth he was telling me, but I did not LIKE what he was saying… because he was NOT telling me what I wanted to hear. I was breaking up with a guy… or maybe he was breaking up with me. A minor heart break; although it felt major at the time. Our trip to Yellowstone is still a lively memory for me. Mike (and Beth) were encourage-rs when I adopted Rozina. Even Rozina remembers our caroling parties when you lived in Portland. I remember the bowl of candy at his dad’s funeral, and the passage quilts at his mom’s. Wisdom, love, grace, wry humor… and courage and music are the gifts I will always associate with Mike. I am so grateful for the gift of Mike in my life.

We are very sorry to hear of Mike's passing. Mike was very dear to us in our years together at All Saints Parish in Portland. He was such an inspiration to us all especially with his music and his reverence. In 1985, he became the Godfather to our youngest daughter. Although we haven't kept in touch with Mike and Beth, they have been in our prayers throughout his medical struggles. Mike, Beth and family will remain in our prayers.

Profound sadness at the loss of such a kind man. Michael brought grace to so many with his acceptance, heart, and joy. Being one of those who experienced his humor, quiet responses, willingness to engage, music, and comfortable presence, I will miss him.
