Robert was born in 1918 in Ponoka, Alberta, Canada. The family returned to the US and eventually settled in Star, Idaho, where he graduated from high school in 1935. In 1938 he began farming in Homedale where he met Ruth Hartley, a teacher, who became his wife in 1943. They farmed in Homedale, where their three daughters were born. They moved to the Nampa area, where their son was born. In 1958 they purchased a farm south of Meridian. Bob retired in 1981 from Meadow Gold Dairies, sold the farm in 1986 and moved to Nampa. At the time of Ruth’s death in 2015, they had been married 71 years. He lived a faithful life: to God, his family and his friends. Bob was a charter member of the Meridian Friends Church.
