Roger A. Wright

Roger A. Wright, 94, of Nampa, moved to Heaven on December 6, 2017, having passed away at a local retirement center in Nampa. A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017 at the Nampa First Church of the Nazarene Chapel, 601 16th Ave. So. with military honors by personnel from the Mt. Home Air Force Base. A private burial will precede the memorial service at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, Boise. An online guest book is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com

Roger was born in Boylston, MA on March 21, 1923.  He served in WWII as a glider pilot in the Army Air Corp., then married, attended Northwest Nazarene College and started a family.  He made his living mainly in carpentry and teaching school in Alaska. He moved to Nampa in 1978 where he has since made his home.

He is survived by his 5 children; Marlene Wright and Beverly Wright, Fairbanks, AK; Twila (Douglas) Ward, Nampa, ID; Floyd (Gaye) Wright, Fairbanks, AK and Warren Wright, Anchorage, AK;10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Winnifred Watkins Wright and his second wife, May Watkins Wright.  Roger was the last surviving of 7 brothers and 2 sisters.
