Welton Lowell Stanley

June 13, 2033 ~ December 17, 2017 (age 15) 15 Years Old

Welton Lowell Stanley, 84, of Middleton, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at his home from complications of metastatic bone cancer.

He was born at the family farm in Big Springs, Nebraska on June 13, 1933. His father Cecil, a farmer, used to joke that Welton was the only thing raised during that drought year of 1933. Welton’s parents, Cecil and Jane Stanley taught him good work ethics on a dry land wheat farm until 1946, when the family moved to Idaho on an irrigated farm north of Nampa. The love of God was also instilled in him at a very young age and he grew that personal relationship with God throughout his entire life. Welton was born to be a farmer, as he was always optimistic and ready to plant, cultivate, irrigate and harvest crops of any kind. He also was passionate about raising cattle, sheep and hogs. “God causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and vegetation for the service of man, so the farmer may bring forth food for the earth.” Psalm 104:14.

Welton graduated from Nampa High in 1951. He married Nancy Boehlke on Oct. 2, 1955 and was drafted into the Army in 1956.  While stationed in Germany, his first son Mark was born in 1957.  After his military service he came back to run the family farm and his daughter Diane was born in 1960. In 1967 his second son Matthew was born.

Welton was a humble, caring and charitable man who was also a providing and loving Dad who taught his children how to work and be good citizens with a servant’s heart he also instilled in his children the necessity to have Jesus in their lives.  Welton’s life-long example of selflessness and compassion for others, will be his lasting legacy.

Welton was blessed with five grandchildren; Kelsey, Kyle, Casey, Jan, and Vanessa and five great-grandchildren, who he loved very much.
