Amelia Rodriguez Obituary Amelia Bermea Rodriguez was born on February 12, 1930 in Menard, Tx. to Rodolfo and Sostenes Bermea. She graduated from Menard High School. She was married to Elpidio (Pete) Rodriguez, also from Menard, Tx. in December, 1948. Pete and Amelia had five (5) children; Diana, Victor, Julie, Rudy, and Peter. Amelia was employed by Intermountain Healthcare where she worked as a Radiologic Technologist. Amelia was a supervisor in her department for many years at Cassia Memorial Hospital until her retirement. Amelia and her husband were involved in many Catholic Church organizations, such as: Christian Family Movement, Marriage Encounter, and Cursillo. Amelia was an advocate in the process of individuals seeking Annulments. Amelia and her husband were also involved in the church choir. Amelia was an active parishioner at the Little Flower Catholic Church in Burley, Idaho and at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Rupert, Idaho. One of her many enjoyments in life included traveling. She was able to visit many countries in Europe. She was able to attend "the audience" of The Pope , in Rome, at the Vatican on three separate occasions. In 1979, Amelia and her husband were invited by The President of the United States, Jimmy Carter to attend a reception at the White House for Pope John Paul II. This event was a highlight for Amelia to have attended. Amelia fulfilled a long time dream of visiting The Basillica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City, Mexico. Amelia was preceded in death by her parents, Rodolfo and Sostenes Bermea and her six (6) siblings; Adelaida, Alicia, Jesus, Jose, Edmundo, and Mary. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband Pete Rodriguez, her great grandson Jonathan Andrew Carrillo, and son-in-law Claude Rasmussen. Amelia is survived by her children; Diana Carrillo, Victor Rodriguez (Delsie), Julie Rasmussen, Rudy RodrIguez (Nina), and Peter Rodriguez. Thirteen (13) grandchildren, Thirty (30) great grandchildren, and Two (2) great-great grandchildren. Following the Rosary please join us for light refreshments and the sharing of memories.
