Obituary

Ana Maria Hernandez, 70, of Nampa, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2011 to be with our Lord after a short but brave battle with cancer.

Ana was born Ana Maria Salazar on November 3, 1937 in Piedras Negras, Coah., Mexico to Rafael Salazar and Dolores Ramos. She married Leopoldo M. Hernandez in Mexico on March 13, 1955 and soon after moved to Chicago, Ill., where they lived for the next 16 years raising their 6 children whom she is survived by along with 19 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren. Her children are Dolores Guerrero (Antonio); Alicia Vega (Roberto); Esmeralda Solis (Juan); Leopoldo S. Hernandez Jr. (Veronica); Graciela Arellano (Benjamin); and Raquel Hernandez.

She later, along with the family, moved to Nampa Idaho in 1971. She dedicated her whole life to her family being a homemaker and enjoyed reading her bible and gardening. She only had a 3rd grade education, but she was a very strong and formidable woman, with great morals and values. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family.

She has 3 surviving sisters still living in Mexico. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister in Mexico and a grandson, Bruce Vega here in Nampa.

The family will greet friends and family at a viewing at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel with graveside services following in the Kohlerlawn Cemetery, Nampa. Pastor Serafin Pimentel and La Iglesia de Dios will preside over services.
