Anna Butkus Obituary Anna Mae Butkus passed peacefully from earthly life in the early morning of Sunday, March 23, 2025 in Nampa, Idaho.
Anna Mae was born in Goldendale, Washington, the fourth and youngest child of Roy and Margaret Beers. She joined her two brothers, Glenn and Willis, and her sister Marion. Her older brother, Louis, a twin to Willis, died in infancy. Anna Maes youth was spent living in various places in Washington state. She graduated from Centralia High School in 1955 and married Jim Butkus in 1956.
Four sons were born to Anna Mae and Jim during times spent living in Washington, Arizona, Oregon, and California. For most of those years, Anna Mae stayed home with her boys, but she also later worked at Washington Orthopedic Clinic after the family returned to Centralia. Anna Mae moved to Nampa, Idaho in 1995 to be closer to her sons and grandchildren, working at Mercy Home Health in Nampa until her retirement. Her later years were spent at Sunnyridge Assisted Living and then in the home of her son Steve. Anna Mae found her greatest joy and fulfillment in giving to others and in roles of service, especially helping others glorify God by playing the organ for church. Although she had no formal training, she faithfully nurtured and used her musical gift to help support worship every Sunday over many decades for each of the churches where she attended. Anna Mae could always be counted on to take time to listen, to genuinely care, and to offer wise counsel, whether it be with friends or with family. And although she may have appeared to be quiet and unassuming, she had a quick wit and a great sense of humor.
Anna Mae will be missed by all those who survive her, but especially by her family: her sons, Dave Butkus, Steve (Susan) Butkus, Jim (Audra) Butkus, and Brian (Melinda) Butkus; her grandchildren, Jeff, Sara, Janae, Braeden, Toby, Abby, and Alex; and her brother, Glenn (Eileen) Beers. She also had a very special connection with her nephew, Glenn Robert (Ruth) Beers and her grand-nieces, Hannah (Colin) Borger and Rachel Beers, who will also miss her dearly.
We know we will see her again because of the faith and hope in Christ that she embodied for us and that we shared with her. And even though we miss her, we celebrate that her "faith is now sight" and that she is now at home with her risen Savior.
The family would like to thank all those at Enhabit Hospice for their wonderful care at the end of Anna Maes life. She looked forward to and enjoyed their visits.
A Service in Anna Maes honor will be held on May 27 at 1:00 PM at Bethel Church of the Nazarene, 3001 12th Ave. Rd. in Nampa, Idaho. A reception will also be held at the church after the service. Any expressions of care or condolence for the family may be forwarded to Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Ave. So., Nampa, ID 83651 where an online guest book is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com
