Anthony 'Tony' Chavez Obituary Anthony (Tony) Manual Chavez died January 20, 2023. Tony was born May 14, 1943 in Nampa, ID. He attended St. Pauls Catholic School and Nampa High School. He joined the Marine Corp Dec. 1, 1960. Tony was a Vietnam War Veteran. During this time he married Carol Pringle. They had 2 children; Anthony and Kathy. When this union ended Tony returned to Idaho. In 1970 he met Amber Estrada and they married in 1971. They had 4 children: Andre, Irene, Gregory and Christina. Tony had 7 brothers and 5 sisters that all grew up in Nampa. The boys and their Dad were avid hunters. There were many, many campfire stories of their adventures and hunts. He shared this love of hunting with his sons Andre and Greg and camping with all of his family. He also started a softball team, TC & CO, with many of his brothers. Tony was employed with the City of Nampa for 27 years. He retired as superintendent of Water Works. He enjoyed traveling with family and friends to a casino now and then. Sadly to say Tony was diagnosed with Alzheimers. He was cared for by his daughter Christina in his last few years. We want to thank Hospice for their compassionate care. Tony was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Mary, daughter Kathy, and brother Charlie. He is survived by his children: Anthony, Andre, Gregory, Irene, Christina, and ex spouse Amber, brothers Danny, George, Larry, Joe, Frankie, Rudy, sisters Jenny, Rita, Julia, Barbara, Nancy and numerous nieces and nephews and grandchildren.
