IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Arlene Beverly
Baltzor
April 29, 1935 – September 5, 2025
Arlene B. Baltzor of Pendleton, Oregon, was born April 29, 1935, in Jordan Valley, Oregon to James and Alice Eiguren. She passed away September 5, 2025, surrounded by family at the age of 90.
Arlene, born the middle of three daughters, was raised among a large, close-knit extended family in the Jordan Valley area. She graduated from Jordan Valley High School in 1953. On December 11, 1955, Arlene married the love of her life, James Baltzor, after he returned from serving in the Korean War.
Together, they built a home on the family ranch at Cow Creek, where Jim tended to the land and livestock, while Arlene worked tirelessly in the home. She raised three children and provided meals for the ranch hands. In 1980, they left Jordan Valley and moved to Cabbage Hill near Pendleton, Oregon. There, Arlene worked at St. Anthony's Wee Care and later in the lab at the Pendleton Flour Mill.
After retiring in 1998, the couple sold their home and traveled across the country, forming lasting friendships wherever they went. Arlene's home was always open to visitors, and it was common for guests to stop by unannounced, always greeted with warmth, food, and drink. She and Jim were the kind of couple everyone could count on, beloved and admired by all who knew them.
Arlene's love for her family and her dogs was fierce and unwavering. Her presence in the lives of those she loved was a blessing, and her Basque heritage was something she held dear. She was proud of her roots and enjoyed sharing her love of Basque foods with family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Arlene is survived by her sisters Francis Harvey and Kay (Glenn) Grenke; children Jaime Shea, Keith (Katie) Baltzor and Rick (Chelle) Baltzor; grandchildren Melissa (Shane) Weston, Keri (Jordan) Standley, Kristin (Jerrod) Dickerson, Sarah (Steve) Fenley, Clint, Zane (Berlin), Travis (Katie) Baltzor, and Willow Anglada Baltzor; 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and many friends that she considered family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Jim; parents, James and Alice; brother in-law John Harvey and son-in-law Con Shea.
