Obituary

Arlo Verlene Clark, 90, of Nampa, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at her home. A viewing and visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. followed by a celebration of her life at 11:00 A.M. at the Franklin Community Church, 8499 Hwy 20-26, Nampa. Burial will follow in the Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell. Services are under the direction of the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel where an online guest book may be signed at www.nampafuneralhome.com Arlo Verlene Clark was born in Smith Center, Kansas August 13, 1922 to William B. Jackson and Florence Frydendall Jackson. The family moved to Kit Carson, Colorado and then in 1929 they moved to Idaho where they farmed in the Pleasant Ridge community. Verlene graduated from Caldwell High and went on to get her cosmetology license. She met Robert 'Bobby' Clark, through her brother and sister-in-law, and on September 6, 1942 she and Bobby were married. To this union was born their only daughter Glenda Kay. Verlene was a homemaker, beautician, seamstress, and pianist. She worked alongside Bobby milking, raising hogs, and tending the crops. For years they traveled the Northwest with their square dancing club putting on exhibitions. She loved to camp, fish, play cards, garden and spoil her pets. In her later years she enjoyed reading and putting puzzles together. Verlene is survived by her daughter Glenda (Dwayne) Dillon of Caldwell; sister-in-laws Lola Belle (Harold) Lester and Laurene (Dwayne) Skogsberg of Nampa. The family would like to thank the friends and neighbors who have so generously help Verlene this past year. A special thanks to David and Sandra Ahrens, Vicky and David Pennington for your care and friendship. We would also like to thank Journeys Hospice for their tender care, and a very special thank you to Linda Reyna for all your hard work and compassion taking care of Verlene all these months. Thanks and hugs to Brenda Remateria and Linda Reyna for staying day and night with Verlene the last days so that she could spend her last day at home. In lieu of flowers the family request donation to memorial in Bob and Verlenes name be made to the Franklin Community Church, Nampa, Idaho.
