Audrey E. Personette

Audrey E. (Shute) Personette passed away on December 22, 2025, at 92. James and Hazel Shute welcomed their fourth daughter on June 26, 1933, in Bismark, ND. They lived in Dickie and Lamoure, until her family moved to Parma, ID where she attended high school, played cello, watched sports, and worked as a waitress. She dated Wayne through high school and after graduating in 1951, she attended NNC. Wayne & Audrey were married Feb. 1, 1953. They moved to SE Idaho for several years where he worked and she cared for the home and their five children.

Life changed unexpectedly when Wayne was drafted into the Army in 1954. He then chose to make it his career, so the family moved often: to Germany in 1963 and then many states from one side of the US to the other. Audrey worked as a Cook, nurtured the family, pinched pennies and “held down the fort” for those many years of military life. In 1977, Wayne & Audrey returned and settled in Nampa. She continued to create delicious meals for several food service organizations before retiring from NNU in 1999.

Audrey loved family, cooking, baking, reading, singing, gardening, and her cats. She made every place feel like home. She was a godly woman and despite her busy life, she was involved in Bible studies, sang in the choir, and taught children’s classes for 20 years at Nampa First Church. After retiring, she had time to savor life: travel with family, the Good Sam Club, and other groups across the US and Europe.

Audrey and Wayne celebrated 72 years of marriage in Feb. 2025. Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne (Aug 2025), her parents and three sisters. She is survived by her sons, Ron (Cindi), and Mike (Sandy); and her daughters, Elaine Mallow, Joyce Bowman (Kirk), and Amy. She has thirteen grandkids and many great/great-great grandchildren. She was deeply loved and will be missed by her family forever.

Audrey’s Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Nampa First Church of Nazarene, 1421 6th St S, Nampa, ID. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Alzheimer’s Disease Research or Benign Essential Blepharospasm Research Foundation.
