Obituary

William George "Bill" Lopez, 72, of Nampa, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at his home. Bill was born on March 13, 1939 in Torrington, Wyoming to Alfred and Arvilla Lopez. He grew up with two brothers, Alfred and John and a sister, Teresa. They moved to Idaho in 1947 and Bill graduated from Caldwell High School where he moved to further his education at Boise State University and graduated with a business degree. From there he moved to working for Farmers Insurance for over 38 years. He married Donna Haynes of Caldwell and they were married for 53 years. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Rocky, Dennis and Tammy. He enjoyed many things such as watching old westerns and traveling to Cascade, ID where he loved getting away and spending time with his family and going fishing with his son in law Drew Dougherty and his two sons, Rocky and Dennis. Some of his hobbies included collecting Coca Cola and Elvis memorabilia and classic cars. Bill is survived by his wife, Donna; his children, Rocky, Dennis and Tammy; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a brother, Alfred Lopez; a sister, Teresa Martin; and his mother and father in law, Chester and Doris Haynes. He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Arvilla and his brother, John. He was dearly loved and will be missed by many. Bills family will greet friends and family at a visitation and viewing on Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel.
