Boyd L. Rich, 59, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016 at home in the care of St. Luke's Hospice. Boyd was born July 28, 1956 in Nampa, ID to Lavell and Imogene Lindsay Rich. Boyd moved to Boise with his parents when he was in elementary school. He then graduated from Borah High School. He is survived by his father, Lavell; brother, Lester; sister, Ardeana; children, Nicholas P and Lindsay M.; wife, Beverly; and stepson, Endika Iturburu. He was preceded in death by his mother, Imogene "Gene" and a brother, Wayne. After finishing high school, Boyd began working for Clover Club in the manufacture of potato chips. During this time, he was offered the opportunity to deliver product to customers and was introduced to his lifelong career of being a long haul truck driver. He worked for this company for 17 years, learning all the ins and outs of being on the road. During his career he also worked for Haney Truck Lines, Interstate Distributors, and Gordon Trucking, Inc. Boyd was always available to help all fellow drivers and won several awards for safely driving thousands of miles in his 35 years on the road. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Boyds life will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Ave. So. Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell. The family will greet loved ones and friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1 1:45 PM.
