Brek Elerth Erickson quietly passed away on August 3, 2014. He died of a heart attack while he was heading to work. He was 53, born in Los Angeles, CA on January 22, 1961. He served as a youth pastor at the First Church of the Nazarene in El Paso, Texas, and has since served as dean of a Mennonite boarding school, worked with children and youth at First and Karcher Churches of Nazarene in Nampa, Idaho, and ministered to students as a resident assistant at NNU, and as a mentor to students at the Salvation Army. From 2004 until 2010, when Brek returned to Nampa, Idaho where he had been Ordained in 2007 by the Church of the Nazarene he was the chaplain at Wasatch Academy in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. He is survived by his mother, Leslie Silverman, who resides in Long Beach, CA. and his brother Tory Erickson, who lives in Huntington Beach, CA. His memorial will be held at 6 p.m. at Karcher Church of the Nazarene, 2515 W. Karcher Rd. Nampa, ID 83651 and is being organized by Pastor Mark Bernhardt (208) 467-7479.
