Brenda Hebert Schwabrow, 70, of Boardman and formerly of North Powder, died Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at the home of her granddaughter, Danielle Bolander in Nampa, Idaho. Services are pending under the direction of Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel.
Brenda Joyce Hebertwas born on January 23, 1941 to E. J. "Snipe" and Dora Jeanne LeBleu Hebert in Rayne, Louisiana. She graduated from Rayne High School and moved to Reno, Nevada,where she worked at Harold's Club. Brenda met Wayne Schwabrow and they were married on June 4, 1960. Wayne and Brenda moved to the ranch on Coughanour and Ellis Lane's outside of North Powder, Oregon, that Wayne's parents Hank and Luella Schwabrow owned. They had five children, one set of twin daughters Bonnie and Connie, Susan, Sherry, and a son Brad.
Brenda was a housewife and worked at Anthony Lakes in the lounge in the winter. Their kids had skiing lessons there. She also worked at the Baker Elk's Lodge and at PacRac in Haines as a welder. Brenda and Wayne moved to Boise, Idaho in the late 1981, and they also lived in Meridian. While in Idaho, Brenda worked for Key Bank for several years and really enjoyed that job.
Brenda was an excellent cook and often prepared Cajun meals like her mother had that required cooking most of the day. She loved card and dice games and after those big family meals a game of some sort would start and last for hours. Brenda loved music and enjoyed dancing. A favorite song of hers was "Southern Nights." Brenda and Wayne moved to Boardman, Oregon,several years ago to be near their children. Brenda and Wayne celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June of 2010.
Brenda was preceded in death by her father in 1972, mother in 1984 and a sister Nada "Nannie" Titus, grandson Brian Lawyer, and great granddaughter, Jaiden Bolander.[Soft Break]Brenda is survived by her husband, Wayne Henry Schwabrow of Boardman, Oregon and their children Bonnie Jane Schwabrow of Richland, Washington, Connie Jo and her husband, Rick Lawyer of Pasco, Washington, Susan Jean Schwabrow of Boardman, Oregon, Sherry Ann and her husband, Scott Houst, of Nampa, Idaho and Bradley Wayne Schwabrow of Boardman.
17 Grandchildren: Greg 'Bubba' Terry, Andrea Terry, Danielle Bolander, Nicole "Nicki" Lawyer, Michelle Terry, Kayla Vierra, Chris Christiansen, Daniel Christiansen, Alexandria "Ally" Youngstrom, Kelly Leib, Justus Schwabrow, Tyeler Schwabrow, Oceanna Schwabrow, Cyan Schwabrow, Cooper Schwabrow, Ayden Schwabrow, Simya Ramirez.
11 great grand children: Ashley Talbot, Zakin Bolander, Aaliyah Terry Jordan, Faith Acheson, Aston Terry, Bryan Lawyer, Colton Rodriquez, Teja Araya Bolander, Corbin Basco, Natalia Basco, Chase Bush and Chance Christiansen; sister, Sylvia H. "Ponie" and her husband, Cyrus J. Rogersin Scott, Louisiana, sister Jackie Pentacurain Alabama, and a brother James D. "Jim" and his wife, Bonita Hebert in North Powder; several nieces and nephews, including John Rosingana, David Rosingana, Michael Fruge, Jason Rogers, Caleb Rogers, Joey Rogers, Sarah Laundry, Peter Rogers, JonathanRogers, Cassidy Gentry and Amanda Hebert. Brenda will be remembered as a wonderful mother, who was always there for her family.
