Obituary

Bruce Cooper Obituary Bruce Cooper, 72, passed away on December 14th, in Meridian, Idaho surrounded by love. Son of Robert and Laura Cooper, he was born on May 26th, 1952 in Sioux Center Iowa. He moved at a young age with his family to California where he grew up with his three brothers Brian, Brent, and Brad along with his sister Lisa. He met the love of his life, Bernice, while he was attending San Diego State University where he earned a degree in Marketing. Shortly thereafter he was married to Bernice and started working construction for the family business. At the age of 30, he migrated with his family to Meridian, Idaho where he built the house that he and Bernice would raise their family in, but more importantly the house that became the home to so many countless gatherings and memories by all who loved them. He also started his own construction company and by the grace of God raised his four children Chris, Aimee, Sean, and Matt. As a husband, Bruce was a source of unwavering love and support. His marriage was a testament to commitment and partnership, rooted in a deep bond that reflected the love of Christ. As a father, he was a role model, teacher, and steady example for what it means to work hard and follow Gods lead. Bruce was a faithful servant to his church as an Elder and spent 28 years as a youth group leader with Bernice going on countless mission trips, conventions, and scavenger hunts. He is a testament to how much one person can affect so many lives in a truly positive way while navigating his journey with humility, integrity, and love for others. Bruce had a passion for five main categories; God, family, food, travel, and photography. He always put God at the head of his family through prayerful devotion and instruction as an example to follow. He was happiest at holidays with all his family gathered at his house while he played on the floor with grandkids amongst tending to a ten-hour brisket cooking on the Traeger. His ability to replicate sauces from a taco truck was uncanny. His love of food fit naturally with his love for traveling and experiencing the world outside of Meridian, but he was always ready to come home to see his family and share the journey. As an avid photographer, Bruce documented the lives of his family and travels in a collection of photo albums that filled his office. The family always joked how they never would have known he went anywhere considering he was always the one taking the pictures. While we lost our most beloved husband, dad, grandpa, uncle, cousin, and friend we take comfort in knowing that Bruce is now at peace in the arms of his Savior. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the love he shared. Bruce is survived by his wife Bernice Cooper, children Chris and his spouse Brandie, Aimee and her spouse Gregg, Sean and his spouse Ashley, and Matt and his spouse Candace. Bruce had 10 grandchildren; Eleanor, Audrey, Lillian, Mason, Travis, Alyse, Landon, Elin, Adeline, and Olivia. Along with his immediate family, Bruce had countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will all dearly miss him. A memorial of Bruces life will be held at Cloverdale United Reformed Church in Boise, Idaho, on January 4th at 11am. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Reformed Youth Services, a cause dear to Bruces heart.
