Bruce Stanley Martin

In accordance with the words from Psalm 139, “And in Your book were written all the days that were ordained for me,” Bruce Stanley Martin went to be with and see the full glory of his Lord, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. Bruce was born in Santa Ana, Calif. on August 14, 1953. He joined parents, Stan & Jean Martin, and sister, Pam at their home in Cypress. Two years later, they moved to Anaheim where brother, Paul joined them, completing their nuclear family. Bruce spent 71 of his 73 years in Anaheim, graduating from Anaheim High School in 1971. He attended Pasadena College and added some classes from both the University of Indiana and Perdue University during an 18 month stay in Fort Wayne, Ind.

After moving back to Anaheim, the majority of Bruce’s working career was spent between Odetics Inc. where he worked in the field of robotics and digital data recorders for the space shuttles, and L-3 Harris, Power Paragon Inc., that specialized in maritime power/energy systems. He retired in 2019 and moved to Meridian, Idaho in 2024 to be near family. 

Bruce came to faith in Jesus Christ as a child and that faith gave shape to who he was and what he valued for the rest of his days. He developed his spiritual roots and served faithfully in the Anaheim First Church of the Nazarene in the areas of tech production, serving on the church Board, and joyfully taught preschool children the Sunday school. Later, he became involved at Eastside Christian Church where he greatly valued the relationships he cultivated in his Home group, prayer team, and the Singles fellowship.

Relationships were of prime value to Bruce whether they were cultivated at work, church, in family, or in the neighborhood. He cared about ‘his people’ and among the expressions of that care and friendship were thousands of greeting cards sent across the years. Bruce brought joy and texture in his role as “Uncle Bruce” to his nephews all of their lives and was delighted as they added more family to his life. 

He is survived and will be missed greatly by sister and brother-in-law, Wally & Pam Pentecost, nephews, Craig and wife Tyrenda Pentecost, Curt and wife KayLynn Pentecost, all of Nampa, Idaho, Kyle Pentecost, of Yakima, Wa and great nieces, Brenna, Libby, & Faith Pentecost, and great nephew Todd & Hailey Beatty of Boise,Id.

Celebration of Life will be held at the graveside at Fairhaven Memorial Park, Santa Ana, CA at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 9.
