Caroleta ONeal Palmer, 72, passed away peacefully at her home in Melba on Thursday, October 29, 2015 with family and friends beside her. She was born on March 7, 1943 in Kissee Mills, Missouri to parents Ruby and Jim ONeal. She moved with her family to Homedale, Idaho where she graduated from Homedale High School in 1961. After graduation she worked at the Department of Social Services for the State of Idaho and the U.S. Forest Services. In 1989 she went to work at the switchboard at Nampa Mercy Hospital until her retirement in 2005. Caroleta also enjoyed many years in independent sales with various companies as well as a few years as a real estate broker. She married Dennis Palmer in April of 1968 and their son Calvin was born in August of 1971. Caroleta was very involved with Calvin with his woodworking and drove pilot car for Dennis as he delivered mobile homes. She enjoyed working with ceramics and tole painting. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; her parents Jim and Ruby; a son Calvin; a sister Joan; and a niece Ginger. Caroleta is survived by her sisters, Leona (Ted) Neef and Bonnie (Don) Williams; brother in law, Dorwin (Vicki) Drum; nieces and nephews, Don (Shannon) Drum, Carl Neef, Jim (Sara) Neef, Tanya (Steve) Smith, Tami (Brad) Jahn, Suzanna (Ron) Brockett, Holly (Dean) Phelps and Kristi Drum; and numerous other relatives. A viewing will be held on Monday, Nov. 2, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015 at the Melba Cemetery with a memorial service to follow at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel.
